Back Forom work

So it's been awhile. I have been crazy busy at work the last few weeks. My buddy Goat started working at the same place I do and i think that it working out very well. Most of the time when i get someone a job i hear all kinds of crap about them and that I need to talk to them. Like I get paid to do that kinda of stuff. But I was very happy to hear that when my boss who is also the owner of the company came and said that i need to talk to him it wasn't bad. For the first time in i don't know how many years i was asked to make sure my friend really like his job. I don't know about you but that is the best thing that you could hear from your boss about a friend. He followed that order up with a 2 min rant about how much he thinks he will work out and even gave me the thumbs up. OH MY GOD, or what ever may or may not be out there, is the best thing that could have come from the devil himself. So even though i always say that i will never get anouther friend a job this sets a good example as to why i do dispite myself. Oh and Goat no presure... :-)

Have you ever had a job that you love so much that when you come to that day that you hate it your all confused? I have finally come to that for the first time in 10 years. I have been working for about age 13. I have had many jobs. Some jobs I liked more then others and some were just to get me through. I the last few years I have found three jobs that I just seem to love and can't live with out. One of these jobs is where I know most of my friends today from. Yes I am talking of the almighty Java 'n' Juice, aka: Java Books, aka: Drama Books. I have worked there two different times over the last 4-5 years. After Rodger (the 3rd owner) bought the shop I jumped right on board to help make that shop what it really could be. I soon became the manager and between Rodger and I we had that place running great. Then the all might Coffee Slinger got into the mix and it even got better. Between the three of us we could almost do anything it felt, even with the fight here or there. The shop soon tripled it's income and hit the papers in five different articles. One which hit the front page of the entertainment/food section. All and all the shop was doing great. Out of no where the three of us stopped working well with each other. Rodger and I started fighting about everything. We opened an new shop that fell apart quickly (due to poor owners planning that he admits to) and I ended up walking off the job during a meeting and not going back but to see friends at night.

After leaving I started working full time in the theatre and soon after started at the ambulance company. Everything was going just fine. Coffee Slinger left and moved to the "Big Green Giant" and Java had a new manager that kept the place going at least where I left it. She did well at what she did. She was unable to put in the crazy hours that I did but then how in their right mind would. A better job came up for her and she ended up taking off on the shop. So there was Rodger having to run thing by him self. Can I just say that I very scary. He is the worst business man I have ever met. He is full of great ideas but with out the right help he destroys them some how.

Soon after he started to run thing on his own he brought who I like to call "The Evil One" up to help him. The evil one is an employ that I have known for year, hired, and retrained to the "Java way" of doing things. Mind you she IS EVIL. So she takes over the shop. All of the sudden employees are unhappy, the sop is losing money, and I start to see MY old customers at other shops. (yes I still went to other shops to see how business was because I'm a dork) When thing were so bad that the people working for the evil one were begging me to come back I sat down and started coming up with a way that I could go back and not loss money. I sat down with Rodger and his Wife to talk about this with no response. Then when his manager couldn't follow through with her duties he called and asked if I would come and help out as an employee under him only. So I did and things were good. I started trying to take the evil ones job as best as I could only being there part time. Rodger thought about it a few time even. Then the news came down that he is selling. Slinger and I were talking about opening a coffee shop some time in the future anyway this was our shot.

I jumped to it I ran into a guy who as long as I have know keeps telling me he will get me the money when I need to buy a shop. I had another person I know say he would front $80,000 to get me started. Things were looking up. Rodger and I talked about it a few time even. Then out of no where he never had time nor would make time to sit and talk about the sell. Via my customers I found out that he went and put it on the market. Come to find out he already had a BUYER. My heart sank at the sound of that news. I talked to Rodger , who had time now for me, and he said that he would come to me first if the deal fell through. Going off his word (stupid me) I was ok with that. Bout 2 weeks later I hear him talking about this dumb idea about a "pass thru window" with the pizza shop behind us. Which I think is a dumb thing to even think about. Come on who drinks coffee with pizza. What ever it's his shop and I'm going to buy it before that happens, so I was thinking.

Last night I was at work when I got a phone call from him asking me to close at 10pm. It wasn't a slow night but he's the boss. He kept talking while I was trying to help people, like he always does. As I'm only a 1/4 listening to him I hear him say that he can't pay the bills and has no way to order product that we need. So I just sat there with out a word and waited. He just sat there and finely gave up and said bye.

So after all of that I ask, is that his way of saying he is just going to go down with the ship? Do I have a chance to save the shop? I couldn't believe it. I have been thinking about it all night and day. I can't decide if I should go get another job and cut my ties or should I stick it out and see if he'll come around and sell it to me. I'm lost and probably not making any since so until next time...

Does Time Off = Road Trip

Do I need to take a trip? I have been sitting here online looking for somewhere to go. I want to get away from the day to day. I started think about this after dropping my wife off at work. I looked all over for something that looked cool for us to do. We don't have the money for the Disney Cruise yet, sorry honey. But then I started thinking (yes it hurt), I don't need to really leave. My Wife and I have so much we want to do here in SoCal we could go for two weeks and not run out of things. We have the Theater, Magic Mountain, Disneyland, and so much more that we always talk about doing. Why is it that people all way feel that they have to go on a trip to get away? I have a lot of thinking to di about this because as stupid as it may seem it's a big deal for me to take time off work. I feel bad every time I do. It took about 2 yrs for my wife to make me not pick up the phone when where on vacation. I'm doing better I turn it off during our anniversary trip. So anyway if you fell you could put your thought down about what you think is better please let me know if taking a trip is the best way to take time off work or not

Should you call 911

So here I am Sitting at my new computer printer still in the box and everything, getting on-line. What's wrong with me... Don't answer that. I have found a hobby. The one thing I use to hate growing up is now the one thing that I find my self doing as much as possible. I wake up and want to get on-line. I get home from work and want to do the same. I think I'm sick!

So I have found that I HATE my job. I work in a dispatch center for an ambulance company in the OC. I have been told many time that I am on of the better dispatchers that they have (and no not just by me but some of the EMT's also). As a dispatcher we are "in the know" when it comes to anything to do with local EMS, Fire, and the personal life of every EMT and office person. That all fine until you start seeing what really happens out there. I do not work for a company that responds when you call 911 but all of the companies run just about the same, at least in the OC. I have been slowly reading two books on being an EMD (Emergency Medical Dispatcher). I have found that in almost every other county that I read a story about the dispatcher worries about getting resources to the caller as soon as possible with little regard to the payment status of this person. I know that we need to make money to have a job but in the OC with out money you could be SOL. If you live in Anaheim and you call 911 they send Fire and an ambulance. They both show up within seconds of each other most often code 3(lights and sirens) and they do what they can to help each other. If you live in Garden Grove, which has the same ambulance company, you will get your Fire Engine but may have to wait to be taken to the hospital because your AMB is coming Code 2(drives just like everyone else has to). Why you may ask, well I'll tell you why. In Anaheim they pay a lot to live there and so the Privet AMB Co gets good money to get there fast. In garden Grove you don't need money to live there so the same company does not get as much money. How does that change things some may ask. Well in EMS every SECOND counts. If it takes you 30 mins to get to the hosp instead of 20 mins you could die or have things become unrepairable.

I have found that this is largely based on the fact that the EMS system of the OC is money driven. Yes there are law out there to protect the public but just like min wage there is a min level of care. In SoCal there are 5 major counties. After reading about the different protocols for each I have put them in order of safest place to call 911 and really get help.

5. The OC
4. San Diego
3. LA
2. San Bernardino
1. Riverside

This leads me in to the reason I will always say that if you are ever in the OC you need to drag your self over to the Riverside Border and then call 911

In Riverside when you call 911 no matter what city you live in the AMB and the Fire Engine will come Code 3. They are very proud to say that they are the best because they are. With out going on forever about this topic most don't really care about I will just say think about and look in to the 911 system of the area you may move in to.

have to go finish putting the computer together now

I Welcome ME

Hi everyone this is one of the first things that i am doing on-line now that i have the net for the 1st time in about 4 yrs. I figured that if i don't get into this the few friends that i do have will give me crap because they are all blogging. So this posting is being inputed via my room mates computer. Because i am the way i am i got my net service before my own computer was even shipped out. Yeah i just ordered a computer from Dell. I hope that it gets here soon. I'm like a kid waiting for santa to come and i just ordered it 3 hrs ago.

Alittle about me: I just moved into a house for the first time in over 5 yrs. Can i say how nice that is. My wife and I have a roommate which is working out so much better then i could have ever imagined. She has been in our life for about 3 yrs now i think. A lot of people that find out that we live with a female are blowen away that my wife Adriane is ok with another woman living with us. What can i say i have the best wife ever and she trusts our room mate and me. Ade as most of us call her is very happy to be out an apartment. We out grew apt dwelling a few yrs ago when we got married. We have been married for almost 2.5 yrs. Man have we learned a lot. Let me tell you i don't think humans are ever ready for marrage but the it is a good way to show that your one of the string. Even then i would have to say that i would not give it up for the world(trust me i know).

About my work: right now i work two jobs but employed by three places(don't ask). I work 14-15 days a month as a dispatcher for a ambulance company in the O.C. and every other day i spend working at Java 'n' Juice here in Riverside. Between the two i have very few hrs to go play.

Well i think thats enough for now. This should give my friends enough to make fun of me with and a certen someone to show me everything i need to fix. Hope to have pics up soon. off to java i go
